Ordinary cold‑drawn black iron wire has no annealing treatment. It is hard and brittle, easy to crack under repeated bending. Only fit for simple temporary fixing.

Black annealed wire goes through full high‑temperature annealing. Internal stress is removed, offering excellent flexibility and toughness. Ideal for rebar tying, wire mesh weaving and automatic machine processing.
Quick On‑site Check
Bend the wire several times. Brittle fracture means non‑annealed hard wire. Qualified black annealed wire can bend & knot without breaking.
Procurement Tip
Specify “black annealed wire” in your contract instead of only “black iron wire”. Do sampling bend test upon goods arrival. Note: Neither of them provides good rust resistance. Choose galvanized wire for outdoor exposed conditions.
