Keep indoors in a dry, ventilated warehouse; avoid open-air stacking in rain, dew, fog or coastal salty air.

1. Warehouse Environment Requirements

  1. Keep indoors in a dry, ventilated warehouse; avoid open-air stacking in rain, dew, fog or coastal salty air.
  2. Control ambient humidity below 60% RH, keep away from acid, alkali, chemical fertilizer, corrosive gas and wastewater (sulfur dioxide, chlorine gas will corrode zinc coating rapidly).
  3. Ground should be cement or raised wooden pallet floor, prevent direct contact with damp soil.

2. Stacking Rules

  1. Place coils on wooden pallets / steel racks, leave 10–15 cm gap between wire and ground to stop ground moisture creeping up.
  2. Separate different specifications (wire diameter, galvanizing type: electro-galvanized, hot-dipped, Galfan, Zn-Al-Mg) by partition, avoid mixing.
  3. Do not overstack; prevent bottom coils from being deformed or coating scratched by heavy pressure.

3. Package & Surface Protection

  1. Keep original waterproof plastic film + woven bag packaging intact; repair torn wrapping immediately.
  2. For unpacked wires: cover with waterproof tarpaulin when idle, avoid direct exposure to sunlight and rain.
  3. Prevent sharp metal, gravel scratch on zinc layer (scratched spots easily produce white rust).

4. Anti-white-rust Key Points

  • White rust (zinc oxide/hydroxide) forms when damp air accumulates between stacked coils. Leave small gaps between coil stacks for air circulation.
  • If slight white rust appears, ventilate thoroughly; wipe dry surface moisture, do not stack tightly again.

5. Stock Rotation Principle

Adopt FIFO (First In First Out); deliver older stock first to avoid long-term stagnant storage causing coating aging.

Supplementary Tip by Grade

  • Electro-galvanized wire (thin zinc layer): Strict indoor sealed storage, shortest storage cycle (<6 months).
  • Hot-dip galvanized / Galfan / Zn-Al-Mg wire: Better corrosion resistance, max safe storage 12–24 months under standard warehouse.
